Billing and Subscription
How to subscribe, manage your plan, and top up your SMS wallet.
Syfon uses a simple pricing model: you pay a monthly fee per phone number, and SMS forwarding uses prepaid credits from your wallet. Forwarding to email, Slack, Google Chat, Discord, Telegram, and webhooks is included at no extra cost.
Do I need a subscription?
You can create an account, set up flows, and add destinations without a subscription. But your flows won't start receiving messages until you subscribe. Once you subscribe, any pending flows with phone numbers assigned will activate automatically.
Subscribing
Only the team owner can subscribe.
- Click Settings in the navigation bar.
- Click Billing.
- Click Subscribe.
- You'll be taken to a checkout page where you can enter your payment details.
- After payment, your subscription starts immediately.
You can also subscribe from the banner on the Dashboard by clicking Subscribe Now.
Your subscription
After subscribing, the Billing page shows:
- Your plan: How many phone numbers you're paying for and the price per number.
- Total monthly cost: What you're charged each billing cycle.
- Discount: If you have a coupon or promotion applied, you'll see the discount amount here.
- Current period: The start and end dates of your current billing cycle.
Managing your subscription
Click Manage Billing on the Billing page to open the billing portal. From there you can:
- Update your payment method
- Change the number of phone numbers on your plan
- View and download invoices
- Cancel your subscription
SMS Sending Wallet
Your SMS wallet is a prepaid balance that covers the cost of forwarding messages as text messages (SMS destinations). Other destination types don't use wallet credits.
Checking your balance
Your wallet balance appears in two places:
- Navigation bar: A small balance display in the top right corner. Green means you have a healthy balance, yellow means it's getting low, and red means it's very low.
- Billing page: A larger display with more details.
Topping up
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- In the SMS Sending Wallet section, click one of the preset amounts: $10, $25, $50, or $100.
- You'll be taken to a checkout page to complete the payment.
- Credits are added to your wallet immediately after payment.
Only team owners and admins can top up the wallet.
Auto top-up
Instead of manually topping up, you can set up automatic refills so your wallet never runs out.
To enable auto top-up:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- In the SMS Sending Wallet section, find the Auto Top-Up area.
- Set the threshold: when your balance drops below this amount (minimum $1), the auto top-up will trigger.
- Set the top-up amount: how much to add each time (minimum $10).
- Click Enable Auto Top-Up.
Example: If you set the threshold to $5 and the top-up amount to $25, then whenever your balance drops below $5, Syfon will automatically charge $25 to your payment method and add it to your wallet.
To disable auto top-up:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Click Disable Auto Top-Up.
What happens when your wallet is empty
If your SMS wallet runs out of credits:
- SMS destinations stop receiving forwarded messages.
- All other destinations (email, Slack, Google Chat, Discord, Telegram, webhooks) continue working normally.
- You'll see a warning on the Billing page.
Top up your wallet to resume SMS forwarding.
Wallet transactions
Scroll down on the Billing page to see your Wallet Transactions. This shows every top-up, auto top-up, SMS charge, and refund with dates, amounts, and running balances.
Invoices
The bottom of the Billing page shows your Recent Invoices. For each invoice, you can:
- See the billing period, amount, and payment status
- Click View to see the full invoice
- Click PDF to download a PDF copy
SMS pricing
Click the SMS Pricing link on the Billing page to see how much it costs to forward a message to different countries. Prices vary by destination country.
Payment problems
If a payment fails, you'll see warning banners on your dashboard and in the navigation bar. To fix it:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Click Manage Billing.
- Update your payment method.
If your subscription payment fails, your flows may be paused until the issue is resolved.
